Kick off the New Year at San Diego’s favorite foodie event with delicious dishes throughout San Diego County, as San Diego Restaurant Week presents “Eight Days of Dining!”
Ecstatic to celebrate 12 years of culinary excellence, San Diego Restaurant Week will be offering its signature prix-fixe dining menus and has added an extra day so you can enjoy over 180 restaurants located throughout San Diego County’s unique and thriving culinary scene.
For eight scrumptious days, Sunday, January 17th through Sunday, January 24th, foodies will be able to eat their hearts out at an ever-growing list of participating restaurants featuring unbelievable price options for both lunch and dinner. Diners can enjoy three-course prix-fixe dinner menus for just $20, $30, $40 or $50 per person or two-course prix-fixe lunch menus for only $10, $15 or $20 per person.
Help give back to the community by supporting SDRW and Sysco in their “Food 4 Kids” campaign. The San Diego Food Bank’s “Food 4 Kids Backpack Program” provides weekend food packages to chronically hungry elementary school students from low-income households who are at risk of hunger over the weekend. Helping during SDRW is easy – just post a photo of you participating in SDRW to Facebook, Twitter, or on Instagram, tag the restaurant where you are dining, and use the hashtag #Food4Kids. Remember to set your post to public so it can be counted. Sysco will donate $1 for every Food 4 Kids post during the event. The San Diego Food Bank has 14 schools on its waiting list – with your help, SDRW can place a new school into the program so that no child goes hungry.
No passes, tickets or coupons are required for this event. Instead, diners may simply visit their favorite participating restaurants during the week to enjoy special prix fixe menus; although it is recommended that diners make reservations in advance, walk-ins are welcomed and appreciated. For reservations, diners may contact restaurants directly or by some of their websites. A complete list of participating businesses is available on the SDRW website, or you may call the restaurant of your choice to verify participation.
The San Diego County Chapter of the California Restaurant Association is proud to be part of the oldest restaurant association in America. With more than 100 years experience, the CRA and the SD Chapter offers industry insiders unparalleled insight into the state’s vibrant restaurant and hospitality industries. They constantly strive to simultaneously improve the restaurant business and to breed the next generation of food service leaders, ensuring the future of this vital industry.
The Chapter also feels strongly that it is important to give back to our community. Through their programs they participate in the local decision-making process that affects the hospitality industry by supporting with both time and money the Culinary Programs at Garfield, San Diego, Madison, Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch and Morse High Schools. They also work with the foodies at San Diego State University, and endow a lecture series at SDSU in the area of restaurant operation, and educate our members to enable them to make better business decisions. The Chapter’s donations to Olivewood Gardens enables the staff to teach our elementary school children better nutrition through education to empower them to be healthy and active citizens.
