From menorah lightings to ice skating parties, you’ll find plenty of ways to enjoy the holiday with family, friends, and neighbors!
Hanukkah Celebration at Westfield North County
It’s fitting that Hanukkah begins the day after the winter solstice. What better time to light the menorah and enjoy all that cozy candlelight? If you’re in Escondido, then head over to Westfield North County on December 22. Chabad of Poway is hosting a celebration for the first night of Hanukkah that includes music, crafts, and small bites. And if you’re still looking for last-minute Hanukkah gifts, then this is the place to be!
Liberty Station Hanukkah & Menorah Lighting
If you’d like to get out of the house and celebrate with folks in downtown San Diego, then check out the Liberty Station Hanukkah and Menorah Lighting happening on December 22 from 5 – 9 pm. This annual celebration is co-hosted by Chabad of San Diego and Chabad of Pacific Beach. The magical, family-friendly event will be filled with music and other Hanukkah surprises and finishes off with ice-skating at Rady’s Children’s Ice Rink, which will stay open until 10 pm.
Chanukah Celebration at the Forum
Chabad at La Costa will be hosting a Chanukah Celebration at the Forum on December 22 from 4 – 6 pm in Carlsbad. This annual, family-friendly event takes place in the courtyard between Chico’s and White House Black Market and will feature the menorah lighting, music, games, prizes, and complimentary refreshments. It’s another great opportunity to score some last-minute holiday gifts while you’re there!
Dirty Dancing Film Screening & Chinese Dinner
This is not technically a Hanukkah event. But it does take place during Hanukkah and it sounds super fun, so we couldn’t leave it out. Join the Jewish Federation of San Diego County for the Dirty Dancing Film Screening and Chinese Dinner on December 25 from 5 – 7 pm. Happening at Lawrence Family JCC in La Jolla, this fun event features a Glatt kosher Chinese dinner and a screening of the iconic film. Tickets are $38 or buy a family 4-pack for $100.
Chanukah on Ice at Skating by the Sea
Finally, join Chabad of Coronado on December 26 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm for Chanukah on Ice at Skating by the Sea! Taking place at the historic Hotel del Coronado, you and your loved ones can enjoy a special skating session, menorah lighting, and holiday treats. Take it up a notch by reserving a seating around a roaring fire pit with full food and beverage service. Each seating area includes passes for skating.
