No matter how you decide to spend your Fourth of July holiday, it’s always best to end with a blast! Nothing beats an excellent fireworks show, and you have plenty to choose from in North County San Diego. Here’s a look at some of the great fireworks displays happening nearby.
Oceanside Fireworks Show
Bring a beach chair and enjoy Oceanside’s annual Fireworks Show on Tuesday, July 3. The viewing area is located on Rancho Del Oro Drive, and the fireworks will launch north of the El Corazon Senior Center. Visitors can arrive anytime after 6pm and park in the nearby business park. Stuff your face with goodies from one of the food trucks and listen to live music until the show begins at 9pm. The event is free.
LEGOLAND’s Red, White, and BOOM!
Head to LEGOLAND in Carlsbad for a fun ending to an afternoon out with the kids. Throughout the day on July 4, they will be offering a variety of family-friendly games as well as a patriotic costume parade. The fireworks show will begin at 8:30pm and can be viewed at various locations throughout the park. All activities and fireworks are included with the cost of admission.
California Center for the Arts Fireworks
Enjoy Escondido’s 55th annual festival and fireworks at the California Center for the Arts. There will be plenty of interesting activities for kids as well as live music and a variety of food trucks lined up on Broadway. You can even root for your favorite wrestler at SoCal Pro Wrestling’s ring! The day ends with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band playing your favorite patriotic tunes and a fireworks display at 9pm. Spring an extra $5 and get access to the VIP area to get the best seats as well as a beer tasting experience.
San Marcos Fireworks Extravaganza
You know that anything with the word “Extravaganza” in the title is going to be good! The City of San Marcos is hosting their annual Independence Day fireworks at the William R. Bradley Park. Bring the kids and enjoy fun activities, live music, and food until the big event. The presentation is privately funded which means the show is free to residents and their guests. Arrive anytime after 6pm to get a good spot.
Vista Fireworks Show
The City of Vista also gets in on the fun on the Fourth of July. They host their annual fireworks display at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Fireworks begin at 9pm. For a little extra fun, arrive early for the Light Up the Night Dinner. Dinner is $60 per person and includes delicious BBQ from When Pigs Fly. Parking in Brengle Terrace Park is $15 per car and admission to the amphitheater is $5 per person. The park opens at 7am.
