Rancho Carlsbad Golf Club
The Rancho Carlsbad Golf Club is home to a beautiful 18-hole, par 3 course located in the hills just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. If you’re looking to work on your short game, you can finish a round here in under three hours. They also have a driving range and a deli that serves sandwiches, beer, and wine.
Oceanside Golf Course
The Oceanside Golf Course is a municipal, 18-hole golf course located next to Camp Pendleton. Enjoy spectacular views, an all-grass driving range, and a full-service grill and bar.
Reidy Creek Golf Course
Reidy Creek Golf Course in Escondido is known as one of the country’s best 18-hole, par 3 courses. This carefully designed course can be played in under three hours and offers a natural layout situated at the base of the Escondido Mountains. Kick back after your game with a local San Diego brew at the Creekside Tavern, or work on your swing with an individual lesson from one of the pros on staff.
Vista Valley Country Club
Vista Valley Country Club is nestled in a tree-lined valley in Vista and offers scenery that reminds you of old world Tuscany. The 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Ted Robinson Sr. in 1979 and is known for its fast greens and elevation changes. They also offer a full-service pro shop as well as PGA and LPGA-certified instructors.
St. Mark Golf Club
The St. Mark Golf Club near Lake San Marcos is a semi-private, 6,400-yard mature course at the Lakehouse Hotel and Resort. The 71 par course was designed by Harry Rainville and offers a link-style experience with awe-inspiring backdrops. They also offer a driving range, and the course is suitable for all levels of players.
The Golf Club of California
The Golf Club of California can be found in the rolling hills of Fallbrook. The 18-hole championship, semi-private golf course includes a beautiful Mediterranean clubhouse, double-ended driving range, chipping area, and putting green.
The Vineyard at Escondido
If you want to enjoy some wine tasting while you take in a round, then head to The Vineyard at Escondido. Situated just north of Lake Hodges, the public course was designed by David Rainville and borders the Orfila Vineyard and Winery in the San Pasqual Valley agricultural preserve.
The Hodges Golf Learning Center
Finally, although it’s not a golf course, the Hodges Golf Learning Center in Escondido is the place to go to practice your swing. There are three large chipping greens, two bunkers, and many elevations from which to practice your shots. There are also PGA and LPGA golf pros on hand to offer their advice on improving your game.
