There are countless ways to celebrate the 4th of July in and around San Diego. Here are a few to choose from:
Big Bay Boom 4th of July Celebration: The Big Bay Boom July 4th Fireworks Show is back, promising another spectacular display over San Diego Bay. Fireworks will be discharged simultaneously from barges placed strategically around the Bay off Shelter Island, Harbor Island, Embarcadero North, Seaport Village, Embarcadero South Marina Park and Coronado Ferry Landing. The impeccably choreographed display will last approximately 17 minutes. Come down to the bay and enjoy the biggest fireworks show in San Diego! Fireworks will begin at 9:00 p.m. The fireworks score is simulcast live on THE MIGHTY 1090 AM and MAX FM 105.7. July 4.
Red, White and BOOM! Rocks Legoland: The summer heats up at Legoland with a star-spangled Fourth of July celebration, “Red, White and Boom!” The awe-inspiring fireworks show begins at 8:30 PM and blends patriotic music with dazzling pyrotechnics. Throughout the day, kids of all ages can enjoy live musical performances and participate in all-American family picnic games like water-balloon tosses, burlap sack races and building activities. Stop by Build & Test 1:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. where one winner in each age category: 9 and under, 10-15, and 16 and up will be chosen. Price included in admission. July 4.
Oceanside Fireworks Show: The public is invited to the City of Oceanside Fireworks Show on July 3, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to arrive anytime after 6:00 p.m., park in the near by lots, bring a beach chair, and walk to the viewing area on Rancho Del Oro road. Food trucks will be parked on Rancho Del Oro and will be selling wide variety of foods. This event is free and open to the public. The fireworks will be shot off just north of the El Corazon Senior Center, located at 3302 Senior Center Drive. Rancho del Oro will be closed just north of Oceanside Blvd. at Seagate and just south of Mesa Drive at Ocean Ranch Boulevard. This is the recommended and best viewing site for fireworks. Limited parking will be available in the Ocean Ranch Business Park. No parking will be available at the El Corazon Senior Center. July 3.
4th of July Celebration in Ocean Beach: Celebrate the fourth of July in Ocean Beach with a spectacular fireworks display off the OB Pier! There is free parking at the Main Beach Parking Lot as well as at the Pier Parking Lot. Spend the day picnicking with family and friends, swimming in the ocean, walking and playing in the sand and shopping along Newport Ave. Then bundle up as the sun sets and pull up a blanket for a really spectacular fireworks show from the OB Pier from 7-10 p.m. Join in on the fun as we celebrate independence this 4th of July in the place that represents independence in San Diego perhaps more than any other – Ocean Beach. Don’t forget your radio so you can hear the fireworks soundtrack being broadcast simultaneously during the show. July 4.
Mira Mesa Fourth of July Celebration: The Mira Mesa Town Council is honored to once again present the annual Mira Mesa 4th of July Parade and Family Fun Day in the Park. This 41 year tradition allows Mira Mesa to come together in celebration of Independence Day and our rich and diverse community. The day begins at 8:00 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Epicentre, hosted by the Black Mountain Masonic Lodge. Family Fun Day in the Park opens at 11:00 a.m. with carnival rides, food vendors, and entertainment. The annual 4th of July Parade steps off at 11:30 a.m. from the corner of Mira Mesa Blvd and Greenford Drive, traveling down Mira Mesa Blvd to Camino Ruiz. Family Fun Day continues until 9:00 p.m., and the Park provides a front row seat for the Fireworks Extravaganza. The annual fireworks are produced by Scripps Mesa Fireworks. July 4.
