Celebrate LGBT Pride Weekend At These San Diego Events on July 15-18

Celebrate LGBT Pride Weekend at these San Diego events:

Annual LGBT Pride Parade:

Formed in 1974, as a sponsored program of The Center for Social Services, the first Lesbian and Gay Parade in San Diego celebrated the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion on New York’s Christopher Street. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in 1994 and today San Diego Pride continues to bring together the skills, talents and vision of a diverse community to produce the annual LGBT Pride Celebration, which attracts 250,000 participants to Hillcrest for America’s Finest Pride Parade and Festival. The annual San Diego Pride Parade is among the largest in the United States. Come be a part of this year’s historic celebration. The parade begins at 11 a.m. at the Hillcrest Pride Flag at University Ave. and Normal St., proceeds west on University Ave., turns south on 6th Ave., turns left onto Balboa Dr. and ends at Laurel St. – where you’ll find the entrance to the Pride Music Festival. July 16.

Annual LGBT Pride Music Festival:

San Diego’s biggest summer dance party is calling your name! Celebrate diversity under San Diego’s amazing sky at five phenomenal stages over two days at the annualPride Music Festival, featuring over 100 entertainers and thousands of your closest friends. There will be a free shuttle from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from free parking lots to Pride Parade Start. The shuttle drops off next to race staging area. July 16.

Unite! Music Festival:

Inspired by the unifying vibe at EDC and Coachella, the producers (Artificial People and DJ Tristan Jaxx Productions) felt that the LGBT community could use a festival of its own to celebrate diversity and break down barriers within its own community while also welcoming anyone who supports unity and the LGBT community. For the Unite! Music Festival, twelve DJs have been booked to play a series of events over four days, hosted at premium, unique venues, several of which are hosting gay events for the first time. This summer series will boast more broad and diverse sounds than one might be used to at an LGBT nightlife event. Indie, deep house, tech house, techno, progressive, house, EDM, and tribal are genres that play well into this eclectic mix of people, and UNITE! intends to deliver across this spectrum. July 15-18.
