When you first move into a new neighborhood, it’s always a great idea to familiarize yourself with the resources that are available to you. We here in North County are so lucky to have an amazing library system that offers an abundance of programs, events, clubs and more to residents. Here is a just a taste of what you’ll find at your neighborhood library.
The Gemological Library, located in Carlsbad, houses more than 57,000 books and is the first point of reference for anything related to jewelry and gems. The Gemological Institute of America has their world headquarters here, and locals get to reap the benefits. Though the library is closed-stack, the public can request any information at the front desk and use all the library resources for research on site.
Oceanside Public Library
The vision of the Oceanside Public Library is to be the cultural heart of the city, and they do that in a number of ways. There are free educational events for children, like preschool storytime and Homework Help. The Teen Zone features all the latest in teen fiction, graphic novels, manga, and music. Adults can join the book club, attend English conversation classes, and get access to resources for veterans. The city offers three branches as well as a mobile library.
The North County Law Library
Do you have a legal problem you need some help to solve? Then visit the North County branch of the San Diego Law Library in Vista. The mission of the library is to provide legal information to residents. Here you can learn about your rights and get information about judges, attorneys, businesses and more. The library has expert researchers on hand six days a week to help you get the information you need.
